The Thermotex Infrared Therapy Systems blanket was initially used to treat the Anhidrosis the horse developed after a severe colic; the infrared heat applied 2 to 3 times a week stimulated the sweat glands so that after some time the horse started to sweat again when exercised.
While the main reason for the treatment was successful the added benefit of the therapeutic treatment persuaded professional race horse trainers from Singapore, New Zealand and Malaysia who followed the treatment, to add the treatment to their horses in training by following the recommendations documented in the book ‘Helping Horses Heal’.
My own blanket was extensively used on polo ponies during the yearly tournament and the engaged professional players were full of praise with the results.
Based on the experience gained over the last year I can only highly recommend the use of the Thermotex system.

During the 2007 Calgary Stampede, a world class rodeo event, we introduced Thermotex as a therapy for our chuck wagon horse racing teams. We had some rookie horses but still managed to place 2nd overall and finished high in the money winning list. On the WPCA Chuckwagon Circuit this year we had not achieved this level of success and believe that Thermotex contributed to our successful outcome. I highly recommend Thermotex for therapy use on any sport horse.

Our Thermotex therapeutic blanket has become a central focus of our training and showing. We use it on all our horses prior to and after competition. The horses visibly enjoy their treatments. We rely on the blankets to keep our horses physically comfortable and injury free. Oxford uses his blanket at every show and several times a week in between competitions. Even our young horses have learned that the big "yellow" blanket means relaxation and eliminates muscle tension. We won't leave home without our Thermotex blanket.
